The El Moore is a beautifully restored 1898 historic residential apartment complex that is designed to be a model of urban sustainable living. It is located at 624 West Alexandrine at Second Avenue in the Midtown Detroit Neighborhood, an area that is developing into a highly walkable residential and business community. Long-term residents of the thirteen annual rental apartments of the El Moore Residences and short-term guests of the ten-room El Moore Lodge will be able to walk to nearly one hundred businesses, restaurants, and entertainment venues close by. Of course Wayne State University, The Center for Creative Studies, the Detroit Campus of Michigan State University, the Detroit Medical Center, and several world-class museums are also a short walk or bike ride away from the El Moore.
Midtown Detroit, also historically known as the Cass Corridor, is home to a wonderful variety of businesses: many of them are relatively new, many are well-known, but many also have been here in Detroit throughout the good times and not-so-good times, and the small business owners, as hard working entrepreneurs, have always supported our Midtown area as well as the City of Detroit, economically and socially. Here on the El Moore blog, we will regularly highlight some of the great places residents and guests can patronize by walking right out of the door of the El Moore, or riding their bikes on the newly redesigned dedicated bike lanes on the main streets around our community.
One such business is Canine To Five, a doggie daycare, grooming, and boarding facility located just a short 10-minute walk from the El Moore. If residents and guests have dogs, they will be able to take advantage of the wonderful services that owner Liz Blondy offers at her beautiful facility at 3443 Cass Avenue at Martin Luther King Drive.
As Liz explains on her website:
Canine to Five is Metro Detroit’s finest dog daycare, boarding and grooming facility, located in the heart of Detroit’s Historic Midtown Neighborhood. Our close proximity to downtown, Wayne State University, the Detroit Medical Center, and several major expressways makes us an easy and convenient place for people to visit.
Contact Canine to Five through the website, walk over for a visit, or call them at (313) 831-DOGS (3647).
